(a) Research sources of employment/job postings locally, provincially and nationally.
(b) Research how employers accept, review and analyze applicants’ resumes using processes such as online submissions/uploading documents, keyword searching, and automatic tracking systems.
(c) Discuss the process for accurately completing an application form.
(d) Complete sample job application forms for a variety of positions.
(e) Investigate the hidden job market and recommend ways to access it.
(f) Discuss the concept of unconscious bias and how it might impact a job search.
(g) Develop a list of questions that are commonly asked in a job interview and develop responses to them.
(h) Demonstrate effective interview skills through role-playing scenarios or mock interviews conducted by community professionals that include common parts of an interview (e.g., introduction, interviewer’s questions, interviewee’s questions and closing).
