Outcome
Investigate types of tourism found within the local community, Saskatchewan and/or Canada.
Indicators
(a)

Describe various types of tourism including:

  • rural;
  • cultural;
  • health;
  • adventure;
  • culinary;
  • urban/city;
  • sports;
  • education;
  • ecotourism;
  • business; and,
  • global (i.e., export-ready).
(b) Research the prevalence of, and provide examples for, each type of tourism found within the local community, Saskatchewan and/or Canada.
(c) Reflect on personal preference for a specific type of tourism and how that preference may evolve and change over time.
(d) Create a plan, including anticipated expenditures, for a vacation to a destination of choice within Canada that supports one’s preferred type of tourism and references the five industries of tourism.
