Indicators
(a) | Identify milestones/factors (e.g., field to table, fast food restaurants using better quality oils, food/safety legislation and no smoking bylaws) in Saskatchewan that have impacted the food and beverage industry. |
(b) | Research the evolution of the food and beverage industry in Saskatchewan and Canada over the past decade or more. |
(c) | Investigate the influence of culture on Saskatchewan’s culinary history. |
(d) | Analyze Saskatchewan statistics and facts (e.g., the number of people employed in the industry, the demographics of those employed in the industry and annual spending on food and beverages) to determine the impact of the food and beverage industry on the local and provincial economies and labour market. |
(e) | Discuss the importance of culinary tourism within the food and beverage industry. |
(f) | Examine examples of culinary tourism in the province. |
(g) | Propose ideas for incorporating culinary tourism, including Indigenous culinary experiences, as part of unique visitor experiences in Saskatchewan. |
