Outcome
Create a travel promotion package for a destination in Canada, excluding Saskatchewan.
Indicators
(a)

Research answers to questions related to the geography of the destination, such as:

  • location - Where is it (e.g., absolute location, referencing latitude and longitude and relative location, referencing other locations)? Why is it there?
  • place – What is it like there, considering both physical and human characteristics?
  • human/environment interaction – What is the relationship between humans and the environment? How has the landscape been shaped by humans?
  • movement – What examples of movement of people, goods or ideas are present? Has immigration impacted the area? What are the modes of transportation and transportation routes?
  • region – In what region is it located, and how is it similar or dissimilar to other regions?
(b) Examine the historical and cultural contributions of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples to the area.
(c) Identify the historical and cultural contributions of other groups to the area.
(d)

Create and present a travel promotion package for a location in Canada, excluding Saskatchewan, including information that references:

  • all five industries (i.e., food and beverage, accommodation, recreation and entertainment, transportation, and travel services);
  • impacts on social, environmental, cultural and economic sustainability;
  • considerations for personal safety; and,
  • other pertinent information (e.g., availability of basic items and requirements for travel documents).
