Outcome
Investigate a variety of health care services available in the local community and province.
Indicators
(a) Critique health care resources available (e.g., pamphlets, websites, articles, social media) to evaluate accuracy of information and determine where to find reputable sources.
(b) Research regulated and unregulated health professionals in the local community.
(c) Assess a variety of health care services (e.g., traditional, Western, Indigenous, complimentary, alternative) available in the local community and province to determine treatments offered, approaches used and requirements for access.
(d) Investigate the purpose and accessibility of a variety of local community health-related services including:
  • travelling services;
  • use of robots in remote facilities;
  • safe injection sites;
  • birth control and family planning clinics;
  • family resource/wellness centres; and,
  • school resource personnel.
(e) Explore contemporary and future issues and trends in health-care services and products.
