(b) | Use painting techniques and a variety of materials to create a sample board of two-dimensional faux surfaces (e.g., marble, brick, rock, wood). |
(c) | Experiment with finishes (e.g., patinas, aging, distressing) on various surfaces. |
(d) | Experiment with carving materials (e.g., two-part foam, styrofoam, floral foam) and tools (e.g., files, hand rasp, knives, found objectives, sand paper). |
(e) | Create a carved project (e.g., bas relief, column, statue, water fountain) that includes the steps of preparing the surface, painting and finishing. |
(f) | Demonstrate collaboration with director and design team (e.g., set, lighting and costume designers). |
(g) | Explore ways that light affects paint (e.g., blue light on yellow paint turns green). |
