| (b) | Describe the role of costume designer in the planning and production stages of theatre. |
| (c) | Create an inspirational image bank of designs that demonstrate different functions of costumes. |
| (d) | Brainstorm different ways to create costumes considering factors such as available resources, skill level, safety, mobility and quick changes. |
| (e) | Examine the process of costume design (e.g., analyzing both text and fabric source material, creating a costume plot, working with director and other designers, creating renderings, draping, construction). |
| (f) | Discuss the role of cultural appreciation in costume design. |
| (g) | Differentiate between costumes and culturally-significant clothing such as regalia, saris and kilts. |
| (h) | Examine strategies for identifying protocols and processes concerning the use of culturally-sacred items in costume design. |
| (i) | Experiment with the design and rendering of costumes (e.g., drawing, making a collage, using interactive apps, sketching silhouettes) for specific characters. |
| (j) | Create preliminary rough sketches for costumes for a specific scene or act, real or imagined. |
