Incorporate the
fundamentals of

design in theatre

Indicators
| (a) | Review the functions of makeup and hair design in a production. |
| (b) | Review and demonstrate safety and sanitation practices appropriate for selecting, applying, removing and storing makeup and hair products. |
| (c) | Collaborate with costume designer to create hair and makeup. |
| (d) | Create an inspirational image bank of designs that demonstrate selected functions of hair and makeup in theatre. |
| (e) | Develop plans for makeup and hair design for a production given a variety of budget allocations. |
| (f) | Apply knowledge of colour theory to makeup and hair designs. |
| (g) | Experiment with a variety of makeup products, application tools and application processes for creating trauma and fantasy makeup as well as special effects such as scars, blood spatters and the illusion of beards. |
| (h) | Examine the uses of three-dimensional makeup materials such as putty or liquid latex. |
| (i) | Identify the composition and calculate the cost of a basic makeup kit. |
