Indicators
| (a) | Review safety precautions and apply safety practices related to stage lighting (e.g., safely changing a bulb or rigging a spotlight). |
| (b) | Experiment with a variety of lighting instruments (e.g., follow spots, strip lights, overhead lights such as Fresnels or Leko lights, LED, conventional halogen, intelligent) and their parts (e.g., plugs, barn doors, internal mechanisms). |
| (c) | Research and examine the use of black light to make performers invisible as they manipulate puppets or other properties. |
| (d) | Collaborate with production team to address additional requirements such as black light costumes, sets, scenery, properties, materials and paint. |
| (e) | Prepare (e.g., securing, stabilizing or hanging, inserting a gel, fastening to grids or lighting trees) a specific lighting instrument for use. |
| (f) | Demonstrate operation of a lighting instrument with or without the use of a lighting board. |
| (g) | Determine lighting requirements and create a design for a real or imagined production using actual or interactive online lighting instruments, applications and/or simulators. |
| (h) | Justify choices made in the design of a light plan (plot) for a given play in a specific facility. |

| (l) | Collaborate with other team members during design and production meetings to achieve an artistic vision. |
