Outcome
Create a sound design
for a real or imagined
multi-set play,
musical or devised
drama/theatre
production.
Indicators
(a) | Research and experiment with special effects in sound. |
(b) | Select, create, record and run sound effects and incidental music for a production or part of a production. |
(c) | Discuss how facility or other location affects the sound design. |
(d) | Practise safety precautions when working with sound equipment. |
(e) | Prepare sound equipment (e.g., speakers, microphones, headsets) for use. |
(f) | Discuss how sound design interacts with other design (e.g., costume, set, makeup) decisions. |
(g) | Design sound for a real or imagined multi-set play, musical or devised drama/theatre production using actual or interactive online sound equipment, applications and/or simulators and explain the rationale for choices. |
(h) | Create a sound plot or cue sheet and sound system layout after blocking has been determined. |
(i) | Demonstrate the ability to solve sound/sound design problems in a real or imagined situation. |
(j) | Reflect on personal interest in, and skills for, sound design. |
(k) | Identify opportunities (e.g., awards events, music concerts) and/or venues (e.g., places of worship, sports facilities) where sound design expertise could be shared or applied. |
