Module 20: Production Project Exploration (Optional)
Outcome
Assist with backstage tasks for a school or community theatre production project.
Indicators
(a) Analyze personal interests, experiences and other factors that may determine how one could contribute to a production project in school or community theatre.
(b) Collaborate with peers to create student guidelines in preparation for working in a production.
(c) Investigate ways to prepare for working in a theatrical production (e.g., in preparation for the show or crewing the actual show, keeping a log of hands-on work).
(d) Function as a responsible and useful crew member in a stage production.
(e) Practise safety and collaborative skills when assisting with backstage tasks.
(f) Discuss problems, surprises or challenges that could arise, or did arise, in the production and how these challenges could be, or were, resolved.
(g) Reflect on what was achieved and the factors that contributed to one’s learning.
(h) Analyze the audience’s experience and how one’s work was an integral part of the whole theatrical event.
