(a) | Identify the types of and reasons why manufacturers include protective devices (guards) on agricultural equipment. |
(b) | Identify the types of and reasons why manufacturers include protective devices (guards) on agricultural equipment. |
(c) | Describe the benefits of agricultural workers obtaining emergency training including First Aid and fire extinguisher use. |
(d) | Identify the manufacturer's recommended uses and limitations for common classifications of personal protective equipment including respiratory, hearing, hand, eye and foot protection. |
(e) | Identify the manufacturer's requirements for the maintenance and storage of personal protective equipment. |
(f) | Develop an emergency farm safety plan that includes types of anticipated emergencies and covers communication requirements (e.g., radio, mobile phone, satellite phone), training requirements, directions to location, required equipment and anticipated response times of outside aid. |
(g) | Describe when coverage from the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) is optional and when it is mandatory. |
(h) | Identify the benefits to employers and employees of the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Act and the Meredith Principles. |
(i) | Describe the use of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and the Hierarchy of Controls for Risk Mitigation in Agricultural Production. |
(j) | Describe the financial penalties for failure to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. |
(k) | Describe potential business costs of safety or injury incidents (e.g., equipment damage, property damage, down time, insurance premiums, direct healthcare costs, client reputation and pain/suffering). |
