Investigate the current use of agriculture by Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan.
Indicators
(a) Explore agricultural commodities produced in First Nations communities of Saskatchewan.
(b) Analyze the opportunities for growth that agriculture provides First Nations communities.
(c) Explore programs that facilitate the development of agricultural enterprises among First Nations communities.
(d) Research current agricultural practices (e.g., Treaty Land Sharing Network) that honour treaty rights.
(e) Discuss Indigenous perspectives on the current and future use of agriculture in communities with an Elder or Knowledge Keeper.
(f) Explore The Treaty Land Entitlement Framework Agreement and the impact it can have on indigenous agriculture.
(g) Explore the barriers (e.g., Treaty and government policies) that exist for Indigenous farmers that limit their farming operations on reserves.
(h) Identify current programs specific to Indigenous agriculture.
