(c) | Identify the basic nutritional requirements of various livestock according to breed, age, gender, time of year, reproductive cycle and physical condition. |
(d) | Explore the importance of calculating dry matter and using a scale to feed animals a specific weight of feed. |
(e) | Describe the water requirements of livestock, including factors that may affect these requirements (e.g., animal size, growth stage, temperature and humidity). |
(f) | Explain how feed concentrates, supplements and creep feeding can be used to meet an animal’s unique needs. |
(g) | Discuss why a salt block is used in livestock nutrition. |
(h) | Examine the advantages and disadvantages of commercially prepared feeds. |
