Indicators
(a) Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret controls, gauges and indicators commonly found on feed, water and waste equipment.
(b) Compare the common types of feeding systems.
(c) Investigate the components and operation of feeding equipment (e.g., silos, augers, feed carts, feed rollers, mechanized conveyors, liquid feed systems and hay feeders).
(d) Demonstrate the operation of feed milling and processing equipment.
(e) Describe the components of a water supply system including pressure pump, tanks with controls, filtration system and distribution.
(f) Research various waste management systems (e.g., manure sweeper, manure spreader, compost pile, manure pit and lagoon) used in livestock production.
(g) Investigate the environmental and safety issues associated with waste disposal.
