(a)	Research the effects of advances in technology in one or more of the following areas: weather, soil and crop monitoring; processing data; identification of insects, diseases and weeds; distribution and marketing of crops; storage; safer growing conditions; safer foods; communication; reduced environmental and ecological impact (air and water quality); higher productivity (workers and crop yield); decreased use of water, fertilizer and pesticides; increased worker safety; GMO crops; and, independence of producers (e.g., performing their own soil tests).
(b)	Investigate the Canadian organizations involved in research and development of technology in crop production.
(c)	Describe the advancement in technology of a particular piece of equipment (e.g., seeder, tractor and combine) including changes being suggested for the future.
(d)	Explore the advances in technology used to adapt unsuitable areas for crop production (e.g., irrigation and drain tile).
(e)	Discuss the difficulties faced by producers in fixing and using modern equipment including software agreements and data access.
(f)	Explore the financial difficulties faced by smaller farmers investing in more advanced equipment.
