Outcome
Investigate the requirements for running a regulated family child care home in Saskatchewan.
Indicators
(a) Describe the three types of family child care homes in Saskatchewan: family child care homes, group family child care homes and teen student support family child care homes.
(b) Explore the standards set by the Government of Saskatchewan for running a regulated family child care home (e.g., number of children allowed, age combinations, fire, health and safety requirements).

Investigate the application process to run a regulated family child care home, including:

  • applications forms;
  • home visits from early learning and child care consultants;
  • scheduled fire and heating system inspections; and
  • screening processes.
(d) Research community organizations (e.g., Saskatchewan Early Childhood Association, l’Association des parents Fransaskois, Healthy Start) that provide information regarding requirements for running a regulated family child care home in Saskatchewan.
