Explore the spiritual domain of development of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Indicators
(a) | Describe a memory of sensory perceptions related to the beauty and wonder of the world experienced as a young child. |
(b) | Examine what captures the attention, engages the senses and triggers possible emotions after walking or spending time outside. |
(c) | Discuss ways to safely expose infants, toddlers and preschoolers to the natural world. |
(d) | Investigate opportunities to explore the senses using natural and culturally relevant materials such as interesting textures to touch (e.g., feathers, pebbles, sticks), smell (e.g. spices, plants, herbs), see (e.g. coloured beads, flowers, birds, mirrors) and hear (e.g. music, wind chimes, instruments). |
(e) | Brainstorm vocabulary to describe textures, sounds, smells, colours or tastes. |
(f) | Discuss how spiritual development might influence other areas of development. |
