Outcome
Explore childhood development disorders and disabilities requiring the support of a supportive care provider.
Indicators
(a) | Identify causes and effects of common developmental disorders and disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy). |
(b) | Discuss how common developmental disorders and disabilities affect physical, social-emotional and intellectual function. |
(c) | Explain the impact a developmental disorder or disability can have on children and their families. |
(d) | Explore how children with developmental disorders are included in public school settings (e.g., transportation, in the classroom, during meals). |
(e) | Investigate the relationship between public education and health care systems that support children with developmental disorders and disabilities. |
(f) | Describe how to care for young students with developmental disorders and disabilities in schools and in personal homes. |
(g) | Assess the accessibility of a variety of indoor and outdoor community spaces (e.g., playgrounds, public libraries). |
